About NextGen Citizens

NextGen Citizens is a non-profit company committed to building a more just, equitable, and prosperous future for all South Africans. Our mission is to cultivate a sense of responsibility among South Africa's youth to participate in the democratic process in an informed and thoughtful way. We aim to achieve this by promoting education, advocacy, and grassroots campaigning that equips young people with the skills and knowledge they need to be effective agents of change. 

 

At NextGen Citizens, we believe that the potential for positive change is greatest when young people are engaged and empowered to take action. However, we recognize that this engagement must be grounded in a deep understanding of the complex issues facing our country, and should be done in a way that avoids unthinking activism or entitlement to lead. Through collaboration, job shadowing, mentorship, and engagement with established leaders, we aim to foster a culture of responsible activism that mobilizes young people to engage with the challenges and opportunities facing South Africa today and in the future.

With a strong focus on youth-centric campaigns and activities, this organization will help ensure a fair and representative electoral process and contribute to the growth of democracy in South Africa.
